New version of Provance software now available; future product for forthcoming Microsoft service desk unveiled
“Microsoft System Center delivers broad management and monitoring capabilities across the software and hardware assets which comprise IT infrastructures, helping customers reduce costs and improve overall operational efficiency,” said Larry Orecklin, general manager, System Center and Virtualization Marketing, Microsoft. “The IT Asset Management capability that Provance delivers to Microsoft System Center customers further strengthens and extends our knowledge-driven IT management solutions and showcases the tremendous extensibility of System Center.”
“Enterprises that adopt IT Asset Management see significant financial and productivity benefits,” said Lori Sechio, Founder and CEO of TekMethods, a leading IT Asset Management Consulting firm. “As an established, independent provider of IT Asset Management software, Provance brings highly desirable and important capability to Microsoft System Center.”The Provance products complement Microsoft System Center without any functional overlap to provide new capabilities for IT Asset Management and Software Asset Management. Both Provance 4.3 and the Provance IT Asset Management Pack for Service Manager supplement the IT operational view of System Center with cost, contract and organizational information. Provance IT Asset Management allows System Center customers to reduce hardware and software costs, minimize license compliance risk and provide more efficient and cost-effective IT Service Management.
Provance 4.3 is available immediately. A beta trial of the future Provance IT Asset Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Service Manger will begin later in 2009. The Provance IT Asset Management Pack will be available concurrent to the release of Microsoft System Center Service Manager in the first half of 2010.
Provance will be demonstrating both solutions at the Microsoft Management Summit 2009, booth 338 in Las Vegas until May 1st.
