The Provance Blog will provide you with expert advice, insights and opinions in regard to IT Service Management, Microsoft, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft System Center.
I spend a great deal of my time travelling on behalf of Provance to present at or attend conferences like Microsoft Management Summit, IAITAM's ACE (the International Association of IT Asset Managers' Annual Conference and Exhbition), Microsoft TechEd, Gartner IT Financial, Procurement & Asset Management Summit and the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, to name just a few. So it's very exciting to forego yet more frequent flier miles for an opportunity to address a local audience right in my own backyard!
On Thursday morning I'll be presenting at the itSMF Canada NCR/RCN breakfast event along with K.P. Rao of Microsoft Canada.
The session will be based on the extremely popular white paper "The Combined Benefits of IT Service Management and IT Asset Management," which has been available for download at both the Microsoft and Provance web sites.
What is particularly exciting is the opportunity to introduce the concept of IT Asset Management integrated with IT Service Management to an audience of IT Service Management professionals. Strictly speaking, IT Asset Management is NOT included within the ITIL framework, in spite of the significant synergies and benefits the two programs deliver when combined. In addition to providing some compelling data points on cost, efficiency and risk improvements, I'll be showing some scenarios of actual integration between the two processes that illustrate the benefits first hand.
Here are the details:
