System Center Universe 2014 (SCU 2014)


Provance is pleased to be a presenter, sponsor and exhbitor at the third annual System Center Universe (SCU 2014) – a live one day technical event featuring Microsoft System Center MVPs and community experts who will highlight the interaction of the System Center 2012 suite and other Microsoft-based products and solutions.

SCU 2014 will take place at the Hilton University of Houston on January 30, 2014, with live streaming broadcasts and simulcast parties available for those that cannot be in attendance.

With two webinars already available on the SCU Network - Service Manager Channel, Provance will also be presenting two live sessions as well as exhibiting.  Be sure to catch both sessions and visit us at our booth!

If you can’t make it to Houston then be sure to catch us by live streaming the event or by attending a simulcast party available in the following areas: Albuquerque, Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Dayton, District of Columbia, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Killeen, Lexington, Louisville, Madison, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Kansas City,  Oklahoma City, Phoenix, San Antonio, South Dakota, St. Louis, Tampa, Tulsa.

If you are in Canada there will a simulcast party in Calgary. System Center enthusiast in Germany and the Netherlands can also find a simulcast parties in their geographic regions.

1. Service Manager Solution Showcase! (15 mins) 

Microsoft System Center provides a rich platform for extensibility and customization. This session gives you a quick “speed dating” style introduction to the inspired third-party extensions that add powerful functionality and enhanced capabilities to Service Manager. From mobility and web access to IT asset management and more, this showcase of partner offerings shows you how you can get even more value from Microsoft System Center 2012. Don’t miss this presentation highlighting the most exciting options to supercharge your Service Manager deployment to be be presented by ITAM and System Center Jedi, Gord Watts and Christian Booth!

2. IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center (60 mins)

IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) are separate disciplines that provide significant value independently. When combined, they deliver even greater value and organizational impact. This session highlights the capabilities and components of System Center that can be used to support an IT asset management program that controls costs, increases efficiency and reduces risk. You’ll see how to leverage existing licenses that your organization likely already owns, and your existing deployments of Microsoft technologies to build a powerful IT asset management system using the IT service management, user and device management, self-service and automation capabilities of System Center. The session, presented by ITAM and System Center Jedi Gord Watts and Christian Booth, features a demonstration of an ITAM solution combining System Center 2012 and the third party management packs for IT Asset Management from Provance.

1. The Benefits of Combined IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM)

IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) are separate disciplines that provide significant value independently. When combined, they deliver even greater value and organizational impact. While these two disciplines are typically implemented in separate areas of the organization with entirely different business objectives and mandates, their processes are highly interrelated. They also share much of the same technology and data to support their implementation. Enormous synergy and economies of scale can be realized by combining and consolidating the overlapping processes, technologies and data.

2. Building an Effective SAM (Software Asset Management Program using System Center

Microsoft System Center 2012 is a powerful platform for unified management across on-premises, service provider, and Windows Azure environments. This SCU Network presentation describes the capabilities and components of System Center 2012 that can be used to support effective software asset management. The session features a demonstration of a SAM solution using System Center 2012, and describes the benefits of using System Center 2012 as a platform for effective SAM.
